Commercial Photography in San Diego for Designer Protein

Back in January, we got the opportunity to shoot a styled type shoot as advertising. We did commercial photography for Designer Protein and we looked on their page today and saw a couple of the images go live on their front page. It is pretty awesome to see some of the work go up on their front page. It is great to see what they did with the images and what images they chose for certain pieces.

Here are a couple of images that we took that they placed on their front page.

We shot the whole day at a few locations with a few different type of themes. We had a hiking, running, SUP and yoga theme during the day with Kelly Ewing. She did amazing throughout the day as the model. The cloud cover on the day was unreal, but we made it all come together and we are happy to see some of the photos get published with them.

We will be looking out for other advertising pieces that they use around. It will be great to see them around.

This morning, I opened up a post from Chase Jarvis that he originally posted a few years ago, but he tweeted it out again today.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART! It is all about the love of photography. We know that the business part of photography is hard and takes up a lot of time. but the love of photography is what keeps us rolling. I could go out and just take photos on any day. It is my love!

If I didn't have to worry about paying off houses and putting food on the table, I could shoot a wedding without getting paid. I often tell my friends that book us for weddings that they don't need to worry about us having fun during their wedding day because we will be doing things that we love during the day. We love being able to capture the day for our friends since we know their personalities well and we would be able to capture their day even better because of that.

The business part is what makes the photography portion a job. That is how we have to pay the bills at the end of the day, but the love of photography is what makes it worth it.

When you get into the business of photography, everyone wants to have baby portraits or family portraits or any other type of portraits done. We mainly focus in on wedding photography, but we still fill the week with different portrait shoots with peopl. We do baby portraits, senior portraits, family portraits or any other type of portraits during the week.

After people get married, the need for photography doesn't go away. They will want portraits for all the other occasions in life and we love to provide that out with people.

We have worked with the Elmore family on a couple of shoots now and their beautiful baby girl wasn't even able to lift her head during our first shoot. Now she is sitting up and doing all kinds of things. She isn't even a year old yet.

The Elmore's asked us to be their photographers for their family portraits last week and the light was beautiful. It was great to have the whole fam out for the shoot. We were able to capture a number of great moments with the family out.

Congratulations to Bianca on her accomplishments in high school! Today is graduation day and we were honored to do her Senior Portraits. She is an amazing young woman that has the brightest of futures. Congratulations!

These senior portraits were done at the beach in Carlsbad. We always love the beach locations. There is reason why we live in this awesome city and we like to show off it's beauty. We love to show off the beauty of the teens and the city and bring it all together.

We love creating portraits for seniors. It is one of our favorite things to do. Running around in some beautiful places in San Diego is always a blast. With the summer coming up and a new crop of Seniors for 2016, we look forward to doing many more Seniors Portraits for the San Diego high schools.

This was one time that I was at a wedding and was not shooting the photography for the wedding. Instead, I was running the videography for they day and some friends were in attendance. Right before I left for the day, I asked if they wanted to have a few photos taken since they were all dressed up and in Balboa Park. Just snapped off a few for the family and got these!

This family is amazing and are so much fun. They love to laugh with each other and they are perfect in front of the camera. When you have the opportunity to snap off some quick family shots in San Diego in the perfect location, you just make it happen. Everyone was dressed up and looking their best for the wedding, so we might as well get a quick portrait session for everyone that is out there.

We love this fam and we are stoked that we got some time to take some family photos for them on this day.

We did some family portraits with the Guerra family at Jake's Pond in San Marcos. It was the first time that we had worked at this location, but I am sure that we will see more of it. There were plenty of great areas to take photos at and there was a big red barn to use as the background for photos as well. That always looks amazing for some family photos.

We were honored to be able to create with the Guerra family for their baby announcement. We had a great time and created some amazing images for their announcement.

We look forward to creating for the family again for the whole family session when their new arrival joins us all. I do wonder if we will be all denim again? We loved it!

This family did great in front of the camera. They were naturals at it and the camera loves them! We can't wait to do more photos with the family and create more magic with them.

At some point this will be an engagement session, but this time around it was just a portrait session for momma. They wanted to sent their moms a nice photo of them, so we just went down to the beach and snapped off a few goodies. We also got a little wet in the process.

We always love getting referrals from our lovely weddings. We did a family shoot with the lovely Elmore's and baby Charlotte. They missed the opportunity to do some newborn photos, but still were able to get some beautiful shots with the family. What an amazing family to capture.

We did this Senior Portraits with Simary on the campus of SDSU. We have known imary for a while and we are so happy to see her grow up and graduate with her degree. She wanted to bring some of her dance into the shoot and we loved the mix. Here is a look in on the day.

It has been fun seeing the progress of our photography to this point. It wasn't too long ago that we just grabbed a camera and started shooting photos with the camera set on some automatic setting.

This is from our first commercial shoot and it was posted through facebook on the product's page. I do hate how the quality of photos go down on facebook, but what can you do.

Doing commercial photography is so different than the Wedding Photography industry. After you give up the images, the customers are able to do whatever they want to them. They can make them black and white and change some of the texture. It is now their image and they can make it look in any way that they please.

After seeing the final product from them, we see how another person's creative eye makes the image. It is a fun process. We can't wait to see more shots released.

Commercial Photography Shoot

We landed a commercial shoot! We did the shoot last week and it was a lifestyle type shoot that featured yoga, biking, hiking and running. We cranke out all the photos in one day of shooting on one of the foggiest days that we have had in San Diego in a while. The timing wasn't perfect for the fog to linger around, but we made it work out and had some beautiful images because of it. It added a bit of drama to some of the photos.

We won't share all of the work from that day, but here is a sneak in on some of the great things we had from that day.

We were asked to capture the moment when Natalie and David found out what they were having. They are having twins, but they didn't know if they were boys, girls or a mix of both. Right after their appointment to find out, they met up with us with the envelope that had the results.

Neither of them knew what they were going to have, so they were going to be totally excited to see what they would be having.

Each of them were going to hold a mason jar for each of their kids and they would throw powder in the air to rep if they were having a girl or a boy. Pink was for a girl. Blue was for a boy.

If they both had blue, it would have been two boys. If they had two pinks it would have been two girls. If they had a mix, they were going to have a boy and a girl.

We are so excited to do their newborn photos with them!

We did this portrait session at Felicita Park. It was a fun session to do with Elisa and the environment was amazing. It was wide open and was easy to find good areas to take photos. We will take other people out here for more session in the future.

Happy Anniversary to this amazing couple Kenny and Ashley. We love them and did this Trash the Dress shoot with them a few months ago. We went out to La Jolla Shores to get some amazing shots at the beach and also did some shots out at Point Loma at Liberty Station to capture the amazing scenery that is there.

The portraits from the day turned out amazing. These two were the best to work with. They were ready to do anything. We found some great spots to do portraits around La Jolla.

There are some great locations out there to take portraits and the fact that the two of them were willing to get a little dirty was awesome. We took a lot of fun shots and added those romantic shots of the two as well. These two are amazing and we loved hanging out with them for the day.

We had a great time at Old Poway Park with the Block Family. We were able to sneak away from the rest of the photographers at the park and found a little area near by to get some family portraits in. We were back at that beautiful location at the beach in Carlsbad and were running some family portraits for our neighbors. The sun has been going down earlier and earlier these days and it has been getting a little chilly out of late, so that made it easier to find spots where there were not random people hanging out in the background of photos.
