We had a celebration of life. Fiona's grandfather had passed away a couple of weeks ago and the family got together on a camping trip. That is what grampy loved to do and that is how the families bonded together. Everyone gathered around the fire to tell great stories of the man that everyone loved and looked up to. He was a hero.

There were laughs. There were tears. The memories of the great man could have been talked about forever and they will be.

We found a majestic area to spread his ashes and said a prayer.

Rest in peace Grampy. We will miss you.

Praying for Bumpy

We were just on Facebook and looking through what is happening on social media and I noticed that one of our photos of this beautiful little girl was posted on a link. I remmeber meeting her during one of our wedding as she was the flower girl. She was so sweet and her family was telling us about all the things that she has gone through.

In 2011, when she was 5 she was diagnosed with Leukemia and has been in remission, but it has returned. A page was created for her to pray while she is back in the hospital for treatment.

Here is what it says on the Facebook post:

Hayden Ritchie AKA Bumpy is a sweet little girl that WAS diagnosed in 2011 at age 5 with Leukemia and has been in remission but it's come back and she is in the hospital undergoing 30 days of chemo treatment. Her grandmother is a really good friend and I pray God hears us and relieves this child from this horrible disease and I pray they find a cure so that no child has to suffer this ever again. The family is asking everyone to say a prayer for her.

Dear Jesus,

You walked on the earth, understood the broken world, yet also rose from death into resurrected life. I pray for Bumpy that she would be held in your loving arms. Bless the work of the doctors, surgeons and hospital staff, and bring the power of your resurrection life into her body. Come fill Bumpy with your restorative Spirit. May your resurrection life bring healing and wellness into their being. May your grace carry her and her family through this hard time into a new season filled with hope and joy.

Amen.

I believe that she is already healed. Our prayers are with her and her family.

Commercial Photography Shoot

We landed a commercial shoot! We did the shoot last week and it was a lifestyle type shoot that featured yoga, biking, hiking and running. We cranke out all the photos in one day of shooting on one of the foggiest days that we have had in San Diego in a while. The timing wasn't perfect for the fog to linger around, but we made it work out and had some beautiful images because of it. It added a bit of drama to some of the photos.

We won't share all of the work from that day, but here is a sneak in on some of the great things we had from that day.

Baby Reveal Photography | David + Natalie

We were asked to capture the moment when Natalie and David found out what they were having. They are having twins, but they didn't know if they were boys, girls or a mix of both. Right after their appointment to find out, they met up with us with the envelope that had the results.

Neither of them knew what they were going to have, so they were going to be totally excited to see what they would be having.

Each of them were going to hold a mason jar for each of their kids and they would throw powder in the air to rep if they were having a girl or a boy. Pink was for a girl. Blue was for a boy.

If they both had blue, it would have been two boys. If they had two pinks it would have been two girls. If they had a mix, they were going to have a boy and a girl.

We are so excited to do their newborn photos with them!

What an amazing engagement session we had with Cheryl and Chris at Rancho Las Lomas. The location was amazing and provided an amazing backdrop to this beautiful couple. Both Chris and Cheryl were great during the day.

These two were a blast to hang out with during the day. They were playful during the shoot and also had some very romantic photos.

Rancho Las Lomas was a beautiful location. The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. They even let us take some photos behind the bar. We were just going to grab some of their Red Head brew, but ended up getting some great photos back there as well.

To start out the session, we had a couple of brews at the bar to loosen everyone up and to get to know each other a little better. It got some of the nerves of taking photos out of the way.

Chris and Cheryl met at a dog park where they both were taking their dogs out to get some time outside. They never knew that they would be doing more dog dates in the future.

We got the opportunity to take photos at the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas over the weekend and had a great time with these two. They were fun to hang out with and we enjoyed some delicious brews at the winery.

What an amazing way to open up the New Year. We served at church and were able to capture the baptisms of many people at church. Such a great way to start out 2015!

What an awesome engagement session. We were able to work with a Rolls Royce during the shoot. The couple won the right to use the car during their engagement session at a bridal show that they attented. It was great to work with the beautiful car with the beautiful couple on the shoot.

We look forward to this wedding in February. They are a great couple.

Proposal Shoot | Balboa Park | Sunset Cliffs | Jimmy + Dulce

So... here was the plan. This whole shoot was supposed to be a family/couple style portraiture deal with the dog. It all took place in Balboa Park and we were going to end the day at Sunset Cliffs. At Sunset Cliffs, Jimmy was going to get down on one knee and ask Dulce to marry him.

Dulce and Jimmy have this joke about tying his shoe and proposing. It was going to be great!!!

When we got to Sunset Beach, I was supposed to tell Jimmy that his shoe was untied and he would drop to one knee to tie his show. He then responds "it is not untied" and I go right back to say "just kidding!"

Jimmy then would look to Dulce and say, "since I am down here...."

Grand Tradition Estate Wedding | Creating Album for Andessa + James

Putting together an album for Andessa and James from their wedding at the Grand Tradition Estate in Fallbrook, Ca. There are so many beautiful images from the day that I have had to add more pages than I originally planned. Still have to tell the story and include all the fabulous images.

I think the book is going to look fabulous when it is all complete. Hopefully we will have something ready by the end of the week.

Happy Anniversary to this amazing couple Kenny and Ashley. We love them and did this Trash the Dress shoot with them a few months ago. We went out to La Jolla Shores to get some amazing shots at the beach and also did some shots out at Point Loma at Liberty Station to capture the amazing scenery that is there.

The portraits from the day turned out amazing. These two were the best to work with. They were ready to do anything. We found some great spots to do portraits around La Jolla.

There are some great locations out there to take portraits and the fact that the two of them were willing to get a little dirty was awesome. We took a lot of fun shots and added those romantic shots of the two as well. These two are amazing and we loved hanging out with them for the day.

We had a great time at Old Poway Park with the Block Family. We were able to sneak away from the rest of the photographers at the park and found a little area near by to get some family portraits in. The session had a lot of props for Lillian's first birthday. We ended the day with a little smash the cake. Check out some of the photos from the day.

I had the pleasure to capture the day for Daniel and Tracy a few weeks ago and enjoyed every second of the day with these guys. They are an amazing couple and have some great things in store for them in the future. The venue at Caramel Mountain Ranch Country Club was awesome.

To start out the day, Daniel and Tracy exchanged some letters to each other. Daniel had to step away from the rest of his groomsmen to focus in on writing his letter. He stepped into the abandoned bar area and wrote something up for Tracy.

After all the guys got dressed, we all took some portraits seperate from the ladies. These guys were so easy to photograph. Everyone was laid back and having a good time.

After the portrait session, the guys all decided to pray for Daniel. Seriously one of my favorite moments during weddings.

Daniel and Tracy did nont want to see eachother before the weddingm but they wanted to get prayed for with eachother before the ceremony.

Again, the ceremony was beautiful.

After the ceremony, we did the formal dances. Bride-groom. Father-daughter. Mother-son.

Daniel and Tracy loved to dance it out

I think Tracy got the best of Daniel during the cake cutting.

Again, it was an amazing day with an amazing couple.
