Read MoreThis was such an epic engagement photography session in Yucca Valley! Joshua trees mixed with bright sunlight and an amazing couple make up a stunning photo shoot.
We took so many fun pictures with this couple during their engagement shoot, it was hard to choose the ones to share! We can’t wait to be with them on their wedding day later this year.

Read MoreCameron and Amanda are such a fun couple! We loved cruising around downtown San Diego with them to create some amazing images for their engagement portraits. The session was full of laughs. Check out the sneak peek of photos from the shoot here.
Read MoreLast week was full of crazy rain and a few tornado alerts were popping up across San Diego. As we were driving out to this engagement session, we knew that the rain could be a huge problem, but we were going to have the session anyway. We planned on keeping it indoors.
We started out at a small winery in Solana Beach off of Cedros and we started our session in the little parking area that was covered. We liked the purple bricks and used it to start our session to stay dry.
The winery we held the session at was small, but we found some great moments in there despite the tight area. Jim and Isa were amazing and had a glass of wine and enjoyed their time with each other.
Our first attempt to shoot outside after the winery had a lot of rain pouring down and we had to hurry to get some cover. We used that little moment to get a few sweet moments.
As the rain let up, we noticed that we could have an awesome sunset and we were just hoping that the rain would hold off long enough to get some awesome photos.
The rain held off and the sunset was incredible.
We even were able to get down to the beach to take some photos. Since it was raining out, the beach was all ours.

As a wedding photographer, we get this question a lot: Where should we have our engagement session?
Our best answer would be that it would be a place that you are comfortable in. A place that you are familiar with.
We usually like to recommend a location in which the couple had their first date or any other location that has some sort of significance for the couple.
San Diego has a number of great locations to do an engagement session. Balboa Park is always a favorite location to take photos. The architecture of the buildings is so amazing and there are a number of different locations in which you could take amazing photos.
Any place that has great architecture, the photos are going to turn out amazing. The Salk Institute in La Jolla is a great spot to take photos as well, but you have to be a little more sneaky about it there. Professional photographers are not allowed to take photos there. So you just
The beach is always another favorite for couples. How can you go wrong out there?
Couples also like to change things up and get more greenery in their photos, so they choose a spot around Miramar Lake or Lake Hodges.
There are a number of great looking places like that is Southern California. Some other places that could make for some amazing photos are in a library or in a movie theater. We have taken photos on Montgomery Air Field.
The locations are endless. Take some time to select the best location that fits you. We could take photos at a Starbucks and feel great about it.
There are definitely some locations that we would love to take photos at though. If you are interested in going out to them, then let us know and we can work out a better deal with you.
Here is our dream list at the moment:
San Juan Capistrano Mission Inside of a library Inside of a hangar
We also are interested in doing more theme type photography. At the moment we want to do a shoot that incorporates Star Wars in the engagement shoot.
Follow our facebook page to see the latest themed worked we are looking to do is. We usually will offer to do those shoots for a very discounted rate.
What awesome and unique locations can you think of for an engagement shoot?
Rancho Las Lomas Engagement Photography session with Cheryl and Chris at Rancho Las Lomas Photographers: Be Still Photography | Ernie Padaon | Fiona Padaon Location: Rancho Las Lomas | Silverado, CA
What an amazing engagement session we had with Cheryl and Chris at Rancho Las Lomas. The location was amazing and provided an amazing backdrop to this beautiful couple. Both Chris and Cheryl were great during the day.
These two were a blast to hang out with during the day. They were playful during the shoot and also had some very romantic photos.
Rancho Las Lomas was a beautiful location. The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. They even let us take some photos behind the bar. We were just going to grab some of their Red Head brew, but ended up getting some great photos back there as well.
To start out the session, we had a couple of brews at the bar to loosen everyone up and to get to know each other a little better. It got some of the nerves of taking photos out of the way.
Chris and Cheryl met at a dog park where they both were taking their dogs out to get some time outside. They never knew that they would be doing more dog dates in the future.

We got the opportunity to take photos at the beautiful Rancho Las Lomas over the weekend and had a great time with these two. They were fun to hang out with and we enjoyed some delicious brews at the winery.
Here are some shots straight out of the camera before we get some editing done on them. We are excited to go through this group of photos.

What an awesome engagement session. We were able to work with a Rolls Royce during the shoot. The couple won the right to use the car during their engagement session at a bridal show that they attented. It was great to work with the beautiful car with the beautiful couple on the shoot.
We look forward to this wedding in February. They are a great couple.

So... here was the plan. This whole shoot was supposed to be a family/couple style portraiture deal with the dog. It all took place in Balboa Park and we were going to end the day at Sunset Cliffs. At Sunset Cliffs, Jimmy was going to get down on one knee and ask Dulce to marry him.
Dulce and Jimmy have this joke about tying his shoe and proposing. It was going to be great!!!
When we got to Sunset Beach, I was supposed to tell Jimmy that his shoe was untied and he would drop to one knee to tie his show. He then responds "it is not untied" and I go right back to say "just kidding!"
Jimmy then would look to Dulce and say, "since I am down here...."
Check out the photos from the day.
