This was one time that I was at a wedding and was not shooting the photography for the wedding. Instead, I was running the videography for they day and some friends were in attendance. Right before I left for the day, I asked if they wanted to have a few photos taken since they were all dressed up and in Balboa Park. Just snapped off a few for the family and got these!

This family is amazing and are so much fun. They love to laugh with each other and they are perfect in front of the camera. When you have the opportunity to snap off some quick family shots in San Diego in the perfect location, you just make it happen. Everyone was dressed up and looking their best for the wedding, so we might as well get a quick portrait session for everyone that is out there.

We love this fam and we are stoked that we got some time to take some family photos for them on this day.

We did some family portraits with the Guerra family at Jake's Pond in San Marcos. It was the first time that we had worked at this location, but I am sure that we will see more of it. There were plenty of great areas to take photos at and there was a big red barn to use as the background for photos as well. That always looks amazing for some family photos.

We were honored to be able to create with the Guerra family for their baby announcement. We had a great time and created some amazing images for their announcement.

We look forward to creating for the family again for the whole family session when their new arrival joins us all. I do wonder if we will be all denim again? We loved it!

This family did great in front of the camera. They were naturals at it and the camera loves them! We can't wait to do more photos with the family and create more magic with them.

Testing out some new tricks in editing

 

We have been working with some new tricks in our editing process and re-edited a  few of our photos from past shoots to see what the results would look like.

From the early results, it definitely seems like something that we want to keep building on. The adjustments are subtle, but make the images stand out a lot more in a crowded world of photography.

We will always be looking to build on what we have and will always be looking for a way to stand out in the best possible way. We think the little added touches will help us out.

We had a fun engagement session for Joe and Andrea at Montgomery Field. Joe flies a plane and we had access to the field and had an awesome time taking some amazing photos with them. This was definitely a unique opportunity to hold a portrait session with them on the air field.

The skies were perfect for their day and the photos from their session are epic! I don't know how many times we will get the opportunity to shoot at a location like that, but we will always be able to create some magic when we do, especially when we have people like Joe and Andrea to work with. They were so relaxed with the cameras on them and they were a great couple to work with.

We look forward to their wedding later in the year when they get married at the Aerospace Museum. It sounds like another opportunity to make some magic happen.

One of our friends is getting into calligraphy for weddings and we wanted to use her sign in some of our photos to share her great work.

Wipeout Run | Del Mar, CA

I got the opportunity to take photos at the Wipeout Run on Saturday. Carrying a 70-200 lens the whole day and shooting constantly is MADNESS. My arms feel like they are going to fall off. It was a great time though to see all the runners coming through. I was placed on the rope section and had a blast out there.

At some point this will be an engagement session, but this time around it was just a portrait session for momma. They wanted to sent their moms a nice photo of them, so we just went down to the beach and snapped off a few goodies. We also got a little wet in the process.

We always love getting referrals from our lovely weddings. We did a family shoot with the lovely Elmore's and baby Charlotte. They missed the opportunity to do some newborn photos, but still were able to get some beautiful shots with the family. What an amazing family to capture.

What an amazing wedding with Grit and Phil! These two are amazing and they put together an awesome day. They are such a fun couple and you could see that reflect in all of their photos from the day. They had a great event with some great friends and family.

We had such an amazing time working with them during this wedding. It all started with a great engagement session and then had an amazing time during their wedding. The venue was awesome and Grit had a ton of her best friends helping her put together the wedding. Since she had a ton of experience in the business in the past, she knew a lot of people that could make this day amazing.

Their daughter was so much fun and we loved spending the day with them all.

Senior Photography | SDSU | Simary

We did this Senior Portraits with Simary on the campus of SDSU. We have known imary for a while and we are so happy to see her grow up and graduate with her degree. She wanted to bring some of her dance into the shoot and we loved the mix. Here is a look in on the day.

Los Angeles Engagement Session | Lupe + Ray

Los Angeles Engagement session with Lupe and Ray. We went to the Disney Orchestra Hall, Vista Hermosa Park and walked around other places in LA.

This was our first time working through downtown Los Angeles for an engagement shoot and we were discovering a number of different areas to shoot. It is an awesome area to pick up some amazing images.

We started out at Vista Hermosa Park and the shot that everyone takes at the bench out there was not available for the day, so we had to make the best out of the situation that we could do. We then worked our way to Walt Disney Orchestra Hall and we could have spent our whole day around that area, but there were a few photographers running engagement sessions around there also. It is a very popular location. We then worked our way to the water district, but unfortunately the fountains were not on. The light was amazing though and we worked with what we had.

Lupe and Ray were an amazing couple to hang out with during the day. You could see how much joy they have with each other. We are looking forward to their wedding later in the year. They are going to be a fun couple to work with.

What an AMAZING venue that we were able to work with for Carlo and Kaeli's wedding. We traveled out to Valle de Guadalupe Mexico from San Diego and enjoyed the beautiful scenery at the vineyard.

Kaeli and Carlo were awesome. The wedding was amazing. The ceremony took place in the wine cellar and the reception was upstairs at the restaurant.

The scenery was breathtaking. We loved working with Carlo and Kaeli.

Tyler + Spencer Engagement Session | Balboa Park

We had an amazing time with Tyler and Spencer during their engagement session. We met up at Balboa Park on a Saturday and it was packed, but we were able to find a few different areas to get away from some people. We started out the session with a little dancing to a two-man band. We then worked our way around Balboa Park to get some phenomenal photos with these two.

Our favorite is when we climbed up the side of the building to get up to a window. The pictures seem like they were taken so high, but they were probably 7 feet off the ground. We have to give props to Tyler for climbing up there. Since he was up there we had to boost Spencer up there with him to create that magic.

What an amazing wedding that we were honored to be a part of! You could see the love between Pat and Nat as soon as Natalie stepped into the room.The emotions were flowing right from the start of the ceremony and it was beautiful. They have such great families and friends that supported them during their day.

We took them for a quick portrait session near the beach so that they could see the lovely landscape of the ocean. It was amazing. Check out some of the highlights from the day.

Natalie was glowing the whole day. Right from the start for preparation, she had a smile on her face and was looking forward to the whole thing. 

Her bridesmaids were the best.

That dress with those windows brought some amazing colors for the photos.

Right before the wedding, you can see that Natalie's dad was so excited for the day.

The natural light at the venue was perfect for us.

Natalie's brother and sister made a rap jam to celebrate the wedding. It was epic!

Fiona and I have been given the opportunity to capture baptisms a few times now and we love every part of it. This is a huge day for everyone that is getting baptized.

Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change.

Commercial Shoot with Designer Whey in action

It has been fun seeing the progress of our photography to this point. It wasn't too long ago that we just grabbed a camera and started shooting photos with the camera set on some automatic setting.

This is from our first commercial shoot and it was posted through facebook on the product's page. I do hate how the quality of photos go down on facebook, but what can you do.

Doing commercial photography is so different than the Wedding Photography industry. After you give up the images, the customers are able to do whatever they want to them. They can make them black and white and change some of the texture. It is now their image and they can make it look in any way that they please.

After seeing the final product from them, we see how another person's creative eye makes the image. It is a fun process. We can't wait to see more shots released.
